Dr. Battah, Professor of Toxicology and the Head of Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine department at the faculty of Medicine at the University of Jordan. Dr. Battah has a degree in Medicine (MBBS, 1982) from the University of Jordan, Master (1986) and PhD (1989) degrees in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Glasgow, UK and Jordan Medical Council Board in Forensic Toxicology (1996).
Dr. Battah had progressed into several administrative positions at the University of Jordan including an acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. He taught several courses in the field of toxicology for Medical, pharmacy, law paramedical students and several specialized courses for the Analytical Toxicology master degree students. He worked as a consultant in his field for National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Jordan, Forensic Medicine and sciences department at the University of Science and technology in Irbid, Jordan and had participated as in expert witness for the court of law in Jordan.
Dr. Dr. Battah had actively headed and participated in several committees including quality assurance in medical education, accreditation of faculties of medicine, curricula and examinations, Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences section committee at Scientific Research Support Fund and the Scientific of the Scientific Research Support Fund, the Forensic Medicine Scientific committee at Jordan Medical council, Board of Trustee of the Stem cell Centre at the University of Jordan, University of Jordan Hospital Council, National drug and poison information, Prince Hussein Academy for Civil Protection Council, Board of Trustee for National center for Diabetes and Genetic Diseases and others.
His main topics of interest include clinical toxicology, forensic toxicology analytical toxicology and drugs of abuse. Dr. Battah has published more than forty papers in peer-reviewed journals, participated in several national and international conferences, and participated in three books. He is a regular reviewer for some Journal in the field of Toxicology, internal and external examiner for several theses for MSc, PhD degrees. Also Dr. Battah had supervised more than thirty research projects for MSc degrees in Analytical Toxicology and Medical Laboratory Sciences programs.
Dr. Battah is the Regional Representative of The International Association of Forensic Toxicologist (TIAFT) in Jordan, and Ex. Secretary General for the Scientific Society of the Arab Faculties of Medicine.
